The Office of Spiritual Life and Service Learning and the Muslim Student Association invite faculty, staff and students to participate in Fast to Feed, an annual event supporting the homeless and the hungry on Friday, July 10, 2015.
Participants are invited to fast for the day and then break the fast with the Muslim community at 8:30 p.m. in Hermann Hall Ballroom and enjoy international cuisine. Participants cannot eat anything from dawn to sunset, but are allowed to drink (if this is your first time fasting).
The goal of this event is to learn to be more charitable by experiencing the hunger faced by people around you. The event is free, but donations will be accepted on behalf of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Click here to make online donations. You can also donate non-perishable food items in person at the event.
All proceeds will be going to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
For more information, email the Muslim Students Association at msa@iit.edu or Lynne Marie Meyer from the Office of Spiritual Life and Service Learning at lmeyer2@iit.edu.
This event reflects the values expressed in IIT’s Diversity Statement and is intended to promote diversity at IIT.
