Join the Department of Food Science and Nutrition for this FDSN Seminar Series event “Academia is an Exciting Career!” featuring guest speaker Cheryl Rock, an associate professor of food science at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). The event will take place at 1 p.m. on September 30.

There are many misconceptions about pursuing a career in academia. For instance, the perception is that it solely involves teaching in the classroom and research, and nothing in between. In this seminar, Rock will discuss the exciting experiences of a career in academia and offer strategies to acquire a career in professorship.
