Join the Department of Food Science and Nutrition for this seminar series event featuring Patrick Keeling, a professor in the Department of Botany at the University of British Columbia, on September 16 at 1 p.m.

Our view of the functional relationship between hosts and their symbionts is heavily biased by interpreting them in too strictly mutualistic and adaptationist a light. In this seminar, alternative views of symbiosis based on conflict and neutral evolution will be discussed as they apply to both intracellular endosymbionts and microbiomes of a large diversity of animals.
