The discussion will feature Wulf Kaal, Melvin Petties, and Zach Smolinski.
Kaal is a leading expert at the intersection of law, business, and technology. His research focuses on blockchain technology innovation, smart contracts, cryptocurrencies, and ICOs. Kaal is an adviser to European and American crypto startups and venture capital funds. Before entering the academy, he was associated with Cravath, Swain & Moore LLP, in New York, and Goldman Sachs in London.
Petties is a digital strategist and local blockchain evangelist. His deep enterprise experience in IT Management Consulting allows him to rapidly engage the business with meaningful technology solutions. His blockchain advisory work focuses mainly on startups with a supply-chain or finance focus. More recently, Petties was featured in several CoinTelegraph articles that covered practical application of blockchain technology and the importance of governance in helping to protect against fraudulent practices in the cryptocurrency investment space. Petties’ passion for blockchain technology and helping others understand complex topics has recently culminated in the formation of BlockHive.org, a non-profit organization that links industry experts and business professionals through education and networking events.
Smolinski is an experienced intellectual property and M&A attorney with a strong interest in emerging technologies. His practice, Smolinski Law, helps clients with a wide variety of matters at the intersection of technology and the law. Smolinski’s practice areas include the evaluation and negotiation of license agreements and cloud services contracts, IP due diligence for investors and purchasers, and working with company founders and executives to optimize their companies’ approaches to intellectual property.
