Join the Department of Food Science and Nutrition for the first event in their spring 2021 seminar series: a guest lecture by Dr. Clare Thorp, senior vice president of Creme Global. The virtual event will be on Thursday, February 4 at 1 p.m.
The evolution in data generation and the ability to create, store and share data has increased exponentially over the last decade. The question now is not so much ‘do we have any data’ but ‘what do we do with all of our data?’ This presentation provides an overview of how the capture, integration and modelling of data can provide opportunities to better collaborate, understand and utilize existing and new datasets. Using examples, Thorp will take the audience through the journey from data capture, data analytics and data integration into different types of mathematical models that are relevant to address the food safety and nutrition questions faced by scientists and regulators. The presentation is intended to acquaint the audience with the scientific discipline of data analytics and modelling and their practical utilization within a scientific and regulatory context.
The virtual event will take place here on Google Meet.
