Fueling Innovation Website Wins Interactive Media Awards

IIT’s campaign site, launched in February 2013 in conjunction with the public launch of Fueling Innovation: The Campaign for IIT, was recognized with two Outstanding Achievement Awards in the categories of “Nonprofit” and “College.” The website initiative was led by Associate Director of Digital Communications Rebecca Scherer and created by the Office of Institutional Advancement in conjunction with the Office of Marketing and Communications and software vendor Blackbaud.

The Campaign for IIT is a $250 million initiative to educate the next generation of innovators, whose entrepreneurial spirit will drive our economy and change the world. The focus of the website is to visually tell the stories of IIT’s long history of innovators with a unique homepage and informative interior pages.

The Interactive Media Awards (IMA) recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development and honor individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements.

The Outstanding Achievement Award is the second highest honor bestowed by the IMA and an extremely challenging award to win. According to the organization, the Fueling Innovation website “excelled in all areas of judging criteria and represents a very high standard of planning, execution, and overall professionalism.”

Created by the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers, and other web-related professionals, the competition is designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet and offer winners a boost in marketing and exposure. IMC serves as the primary sponsor and governing body of the IMA, establishes the judging system, and provides the judges for the competition.
