Allison Galindo Hired to Lead Women’s Lacrosse at Illinois Tech

Allison Galindo has been named as head women’s lacrosse coach at Illinois Tech. She will begin building the program in the spring of 2014, competing in its inaugural season as an independent team.

Galindo plans to repeat her coaching success in building a new lacrosse program at Robert Morris University. In the past two seasons, she built RMU from a 3-10 record her first year to a 14-4 finish last season. Galindo also led her team to a perfect 6-0 conference record for the programs first-ever conference championship and a berth to their first National Women’s Lacrosse League Playoff (NWLL). In the post-season, Galindo was named NWLL Coach of the Year and coached seven players who received All-Conference awards. Nationally, two of her players were named All-American.

Galindo graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a teacher certification. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Concordia University. She played lacrosse at the high school level at St. Charles East High in St. Charles, Ill., as a founding member of their women’s lacrosse team. She was a captain of the first varsity team and was team MVP. She finished her career as the state’s leading scorer and was selected to the All-Conference and honorable mention All-State teams.

When not in season, Galindo coaches with the Cool Stick U17 National Travel Team and is a lacrosse official.
