“Haunted House: Scarlet Crypt” Presented by the School of Applied Technology

Pumpkins aren’t the only thing being launched Family Weekend, when the School of Applied Terror presents “Haunted House: Scarlet Crypt”* on Saturday, October 15 from 6–9 p.m. in the Stuart Building at the corner of 31st & State streets. Encounter the terrifying experience of ghosts and zombies rising from an ancient burial ground uncovered beneath campus grounds near Stuart Building. What has become known as the Legend of Scarlet Crypt is a little known story in the Illinois Tech community, though some have claimed to see ghosts and spirits of a former time wander campus this time of year. Get ready for frights and delights when touring “Haunted House: Scarlet Crypt.” Admission is free. Illinois Tech’s Alternative Spring Break (IIT ASB), will be selling taffy apples as a fall fundraiser.

*Although open to all students, parents and their families, this event is rated mature and not suited for children age 13 or under without accompaniment by an adult.

Student volunteers are needed to help make the event a success. If you are interested in volunteering contact Carolyn Nivling at cnivling@iit.edu.
