Hawks fall in the Ozarks

BRANSON, MO – – The Illinois Tech volleyball team came up short on Saturday (Sept 3) against host College of the Ozarks, before falling in four sets (18-25, 25-22, 17-25, 18-25).  Senior Kayla Heller finished the match with a team-high 14 kills.  Junior setter, Rebecca Bograd posted her first double-double on the season with 43 assists to go along with 11 digs.  Sophomore Brittany Mead finished with 24 digs in the defeat.

The Hawks later fell to John Brown University (18-25, 17-25, 26-28) in their last match of the College of the Ozark-Mazzio Volleyball tournament.  Kayla Heller lead the squad hitting at a .412 attack percentage.  Freshman Shea Manley chipped in with three services aces.

Illinois Tech will open conference play Tuesday (Sept 6) against Trinity International University.  TIU knocked out IIT in last years conference semi-final match.  Game time is slated for 7:00 PM.
