On August 25, the Midwest Chapter of the Health Physics Society (HPS) held its 2018 Annual Technical Symposium on Illinois Tech’s Rice Campus.
The symposium was hosted by the Illinois Tech HPS Student Chapter and S.Y. Chen, director of Illinois Tech’s Master of Health Physics program. Chen also gave a talk at the event titled, “Health Physics at Illinois Tech: Onward to the Next Challenges.” Several of the program’s alumni and students attended the symposium, with some students serving on the symposium committee. More than 30 health physics and radiation protection professionals who work in research, industry, hospitals, and laboratories attended the event, which was sponsored by a handful of local commercial vendors.
The National Health Physics Society Annual Meeting will be held next summer in Orlando, Florida.
