Homecoming 2012

This weekend, students and alumni descended on Main Campus for food, frolicking, and plenty of reminiscing. It was Homecoming 2012, and it was a blast.

The Student Union Board and Golden Society Reunion Committee planned an activity-packed weekend. Alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago received medallions from President John Anderson, and the African-American Alumni Association held an inaugural gala.

Meanwhile, Student Union Board set up tents for Saturday’s carnival activities in Morton Park. Face-painting, tee-shirt-painting, caricatures, raffles, hot dogs, and uncommonly crafty animal balloons were available next to giant inflatable games.

The preceding week offered a chance for everyone in the IIT community to meet each other at special lectures, Greek house and residence hall tours, and a party in the Bog featuring headphone disco. On Friday, students celebrated their tradition of philanthropy and the Class of 2012 Student Gift, which constituted seven energy-sustainable water fountains installed into seven different academic buildings.
