IIT Boeing Scholars Academy Seeking Volunteers

The IIT Boeing Scholars Academy, a free, two-year academic enrichment program that inspires high-achieving Chicago-area high school students to make a difference in their communities through STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and to pursue higher education, is seeking volunteers to help seniors prepare for college admission interviews. Involvement is welcomed from  IIT students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the greater Chicagoland community.

A mock interview workshop will be held from 10 am-1 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Volunteers will help seniors prepare for college admission interviews, specifically the Chicago Scholars Onsite Admission Forum where the seniors will interview with college admission representatives on October 28, 2013, along with hundreds of other Chicago-area seniors. Eligible volunteers must be college students, faculty or staff.

Agenda:
10-10:30am: Interviewers will be given a brief training. More context/background of the Chicago Scholars Onsite Admission Forum will be provided at this time. (No prior knowledge of the Chicago Scholars onsite event required).

10:30am-Noon: Scholars will rotate between interviewers doing short interviews designed to simulate the Onsite Admission interview setting.

Noon-1pm: Lunch for interviewers and scholars

Complete this form to express your interest in volunteering.
