The IIT Boeing Scholars Academy is running a donation drive to benefit the Night Ministry, a Chicago-based organization that offers housing, health care and human connection to Chicagoans struggling with poverty or homelessness. The Boeing Scholars are collecting items that they will use to create hygiene kits to help provide small comforts to clients of the Night Ministry.
Travel-size or sample-size items are greatly preferred. All items must be new or like-new. (As a rule of thumb, consider what you would appreciate receiving in the position of a Night Ministry client.) The most-needed items are toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap. We can also accept donations of disposable razors, shave cream, washcloths, pre-moistened towelettes, combs, small hairbrushes, lip balm, mouthwash and deodorant (full-size preferred).
The donation drive runs from Monday, July 1 through Thursday, July 18. Please bring all donations to one of the clearly marked donation boxes on IIT Main Campus in the following locations: the One-Stop (MTCC), Office of Campus Life (outside MTCC 212 in the Campus Life suite), the Office of Student Access, Success and Diversity (2nd floor, IIT Tower) or the IIT Boeing Scholars Academy office (Perlstein 107). Questions? Please contact Connie Ma, program coordinator, IIT Boeing Scholars Academy, at yma24@iit.edu or 7-3005.
Thank you for your support!
