IIT Charity Lock-In: Study Hard, But Play Harder

Keating Sports Center will be closed regular hours Friday and Saturday, January 18 and 19, to host a brand new event on campus. We apologize for any workout inconveniences planned, but are excited to introduce a great opportunity for you and your friends to get your sweat on during this time instead.

For the IIT Charity Lock-in, the doors to Keating will open at 8 pm on January 18 and and will not reopen until 5 am the next morning.  All events will begin at 9 pm.  Tickets will be sold at the door and can be used at events throughout the entire night.

All the courts in Keating will be assigned different games and activities, including World Cup Soccer, Zumba, Baseball Batting Cages and Quidditch! There will even be a movie area and Wii video games. So, if you were planning on dragging yourself to the gym for another boring workout, think again, because Illinois Tech studies hard, but plays harder!

Now is your chance to release your inner nerd and help make a difference for others in our city. This great opportunity is for students and faculty (just like you) to get active and raise money at the same time. All money collected will benefit Play For Life, a Chicagoan nonprofit organization that uses sports to help at-risk youth develop healthy relationships and learn essential life lessons.

Everyone is welcome to support, so bring some cash and a winning mindset to join your fellow students in a night full of competition and fun. Not to mention, brand new IIT Workout Gear, created by student-athletes themselves, will be available to purchase at this time.

The 2013 Charity Lock-In is hosted by the Student-Athletes of Illinois Tech and will be providing a non-stop fun experience for you and your friends. Our goal is to motivate the IIT Community of the importance to get active and to take part in helping our city’s at-risk youth. This initiative is being led by the IIT Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Our mission is to recreate the identity of our school’s athletic program, to change the status quo for student-athletes at IIT, and use that new image to lead a campus-wide spirit movement.
