IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law third-year student Hanna Kaufman spoke at the White House Forum on Increasing Access to Justice on April 14, 2015. Kaufman spoke about her experience in the Justice and Technology Practicum taught by Ronald Staudt and staff from the Center for Access to Justice and Technology. In the Practicum, taken during the fall 2013 semester, Hanna partnered with California’s Administrative Offices of the Court to create an A2J Guided Interview for filling out a child support modification. An A2J Guided Interview is an interactive, online interface for gathering information from pro se litigants for document assembly developed at Chicago-Kent in conjunction with the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI). Kaufman also spoke about the impact working with technology to assist low-income, self-represented litigants had on her law school career.
