IIT Dining Hosts ProStart Students

IIT Dining Services hosted nine students from Dunbar Vocational Career Academy High School for a ProStart field trip on November 14. Students enrolled in ProStart have expressed an interest in pursuing careers in the hospitality industry. During the field trip they discussed food safety and tips on how to set up a catering buffet. Illinois Tech’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions supplied each student with literature about Illinois Tech and they were given information about the Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH). The group was led by Chef Retondria Green who had high praise for Illinois Tech and it’s dining program.
