IIT Hosts Real-Time Communications Conference and Expo

IIT will host the ninth annual Real-Time Communications Conference and Expo Tuesday, October 15, 2013 through Thursday, October 17, 2013 on Main Campus, in Hermann Hall located at 3241 S. Federal Street. There is a special $100 rate for IIT faculty staff and students. This event normally costs $400.

The event brings together technical professional and business executives from the data and telecommunications industry, standards bodies, policy and regulatory institutions, educators and researchers to promote an open exchange of ideas to lead the future development in the field of real-time communications.

Seminars will feature discussions including web and emerging technologies, WebRTC, mobility, next generation 911 public safety answering points, cloud communications, entrepreneurship and innovation. In addition, keynote presentations will feature Andreas Gal, vice president for Mobile Engineering at Mozilla, Henning Schulzrinne, chief technology officer at the Federal Communications Commission, and Stephen Brown, vice president for Cloud Strategy at Mitel Networks Corporation.

In addition, IPTComm will also hold an academic conference as part of the Real-Time Communications Conference. An academic conference supported by the Association for Computing Machinery, the goal of IPTComm is to serve as a platform for researchers from academia, research labs, industry and government to share ideas, outcomes and experiences in the field of IP-based telecommunications.
