IIT Launches New Emergency Communication System – Update Your Information Using New Webpage

Starting July 1, a new IIT Alert system will be used to send immediate emails, text, and voice mail messages to active IIT faculty, staff, and students in the event of severe weather or an emergency that affects the safety of the IIT community on any of our campuses.

Alerts are sent to IIT account holders including all @hawk.iit.edu, @iit.edu, @id.iit.edu, @kentlaw.iit.edu, and @stuart.iit.edu active email addresses. In order to ensure that the emergency alerts are received in a timely manner, visit http://web.iit.edu/iitalert to confirm your IIT email address and select additional alert preferences. For example, you can select the option to receive emergency alerts via text and voice mail messages, and non-IIT email addresses. Please review your account BEFORE noon on Monday, June 30.

In addition, Illinois Institute of Technology tenants (who lease space in IIT facilities) and family members of students are also eligible to register for IIT Alert accounts. Information on how to register is listed on the http://web.iit.edu/iitalert page.

If you have any questions about registering, email Office of Technology Services (OTS) Support Desk at supportdesk@iit.edu or click here.

Note: If you sign up to receive text messages and choose a mobile carrier, you will receive a “send notify SMS” message from info@regroup.com. This message indicates that your mobile phone number has been added to the system successfully.
