Ten IIT students recently submitted their Interprofessional Projects Program (IPRO) work to the ELECTRI International/National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Green Energy challenge. The IPRO project, under the direction of INTM Adjunct Professor Dr. Daniel Tomal, focused on an energy system assessment of the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) and earned a fifth place finish out of 15 universities. A jury of contractors and industry partners evaluate the written proposals, with the top three proceeding to the NECA Convention for an oral presentation of their project. IIT’s team score was only 3.08 points out of third place making this a very good showing for the IIT NECA student chapter, and will be an encouragement to those entering the competition in 2015.
