IIT Open Access Student Advocacy Group Meeting

IIT spends a great deal of money each year to gain access to scholarly articles. After graduation, many students will likely lose access to scholarly articles published in traditional journals, even those papers which were funded by your tax dollars! A new campus advocacy group proposes to set the default to open access.

The Internet and other emerging technologies have made possible a cheaper and more efficient model where anyone can access high quality scholarly literature. Come to the first meeting of IIT’s Open Access Student Advocacy Group to learn more and to help show that IIT supports an open access publishing system.

The event will be held in the Paul V. Galvin Library on Tuesday, September 11 from 12:50–1:40 pm. Lunch will be provided! All attendees are asked to meet in the library lobby.
