The Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma received the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) Chapter Award of Distinction. Over fifteen individuals including twelve Illinois Institute of Technology students traveled to Kansas City, Mo. to receive this prestigious award that only ten chapters from around the United States were recognized for.

In the NIC announcement it stated, “The Chapter Award of Distinction recognizes the undergraduate chapter which is highly functioning, in compliance with NIC Standards, seeks to educate others about the benefits of a values-based fraternity experience, and works to maintain a healthy relationship with their inter/national organization. This year’s recipients combine for nearly $300,000 in philanthropic donations, a 3.27 cumulative chapter GPA, top honors from both the campus and national organization, and over 40,000 hours of community service.”
