IIT Stuart New Course Featuring IBM’s Watson Technology

IIT_Stuart_horiz_186_blk.gifRemember when IBM’s “Watson” computer beat humans on the game show Jeopardy? Today, Watson is creating new opportunities in cognitive systems through applications in a variety of industries. In the spring 2015 semester, IIT Stuart School of Business is partnering with IBM to incorporate Watson technology in the new special topics course MAC 525: Cognitive Computing in Business, offered through Stuart’s M.S. in Marketing Analytics and Communication program.

Students will build a Watson application by loading the relevant knowledge and question-answer pairs into the cognitive system to train its thinking competency in a selected application domain. Select spots are available for students from other academic programs to enroll for spring 2015. For more information, contact Professor Marty Bariff at bariff@stuart.iit.edu.
