Illinois Tech Alumna Finalist for Global Teacher Prize

Robin Chaurasiya (PPCI ’05), co-founder of Kranti—a nonprofit organization “empowering girls from Mumbai’s red-light areas to become agents of social change”—is among 10 finalists being considered for the 2016 Global Teacher Prize. Awarded by the Varkey Foundation, the prize recognizes one teacher “who has made an outstanding contribution to their profession” with a $1 million gift. The winner will be announced on Sunday, March 13 at a ceremony in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
