U.S. News & World Report ranked Illinois Institute of Technology #103 in the National Universities category according to the 2017 Best Colleges ranking, released in September. In 2016 Illinois Tech ranked #108 (tie) and in 2015 it ranked #116.

The university is ranked #36 in the Best Value Schools list. Illinois Tech’s undergraduate engineering program is ranked #63 (tie).
