Although the spring 2026 academic season is winding down at Illinois Tech, things are heating up for Illinois Tech Athletics, as both the men’s and women’s tennis teams are traveling for NCAA Championship competition while baseball begins conference tournament play this week.
Both men’s and women’s tennis won their respective Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) post-season tournament titles to earn automatic berths into the NCAA Division III Tennis Championships. For men’s tennis, this is their sixth NCAA tournament appearance in the last seven seasons, while the women’s team has earned their second NCAA tournament berth in program history, their first since 2022.
Men’s tennis will take on Carthage College at 11 a.m. CT Friday, May 8, in Granville, Ohio, with Denison University serving as the NCAA DIII Men’s Tennis Regional host institution.
Women’s tennis has a 10 a.m. CT date with Luther College on Friday, May 8, in Saint Peter, Minnesota, with Gustavus Adolphus serving as the NCAA DIII Women’s Tennis Regional host school.

Illinois Tech Baseball has had their best season since joining the NACC in 2017, finishing in fourth place and earning the number four seed and a first-round bye in the NACC Baseball Postseason Tournament, hosted by Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. The Scarlet Hawks opened tournament play on Thursday, May 7, at 1 p.m., losing 14-8 to seventh-seeded Edgewood University. The conference baseball tournament is a double-elimination format, and the Scarlet Hawks’ second game will take place on at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, against third-seeded Concordia Chicago.
