As of June 26, 2015, all F-1 students will begin receiving I-20s that have been printed in a new format. Be advised that this is a nation-wide format change put into effect by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in an effort to clarify information on the Form I-20. Please do not discard any of your previous I-20s—even those in the old format. Keep them for your records.
Important facts to know:
- You do not need to request a new I-20 due to the update; you may continue to use your current Form I-20 until July 1, 2016. The International Center will issue updated I-20s to all students before this deadline.
- The purpose and use of the Form I-20 will not change; only the format in which the information is displayed will change.
