The Illinois Innovation Index, which examines the role of universities in the establishment of creating new businesses, profiled the University Technology Park at IIT in its latest report. Based on the first annual University Entrepreneurship Survey conducted by the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition, the report indicates that universities located in the Chicago area, such as IIT, have produced nearly 80 percent of new business start-ups.
Specifically, the report cites IIT’s University Technology Park for driving the creation of several high-tech companies such as Cleversafe, Chromatin and Advanced Cooling Therapy.
