Join us on Saturday, April 15, at 2 p.m. for a Campus Walk sponsored by the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.
The event will be a fundraising opportunity for the AFSP as we raise money for suicide prevention and mental health resources. To encourage donations, we will be offering AFSP shirts and merchandise, as well as auctioning donated items from the White Sox, including a signed game ball by pitcher Lance Lynn. Along with this, if you pre-register before the walk, you will be entered into a raffle for a $50 Visa gift card.
When signing up for the walk, it is possible to register yourself as a member of a team. These teams are meant to foster friendly competition and to encourage more people to attend. The chairs for this walk would love it if heads of departments and clubs could create teams and encourage members to attend.
The AFSP stands for a great cause, and their Out of the Darkness Walks create awareness and support for them. Registration is totally free, and all net proceeds will help the AFSP fund research, education, prevention, advocacy, and survivor programs to assist those affected by suicide. All donations are tax-deductible and anyone in the Chicago area can join! We appreciate any and all donations.
