We are pleased to announce that Kathryn Spink will be Illinois Tech’s first director of pre-health professions programs. Spink has served as chair of the University Premedical Advisory Committee and the chief health professions advisor since fall 2005. With over a decade of pre-health professions advising experience, and as a member of the National Association of Advising for the Health Professions (NAAHP), she is uniquely qualified to oversee the pre-health programs on Illinois Tech’s campus.

As director she will work with other members of the Illinois Tech community to maintain and enhance the pre-health programs on campus, which include special articulation agreements with health professions universities, will oversee the minor in premedical studies and various post-bac curricula, and will develop course and experiential learning requirements for entrance into health professions school. In addition, Spink will lead the University Premedical Advisory Committee, which will oversee and develop the pre-health program as a whole and suggest and implement improvements where needed.
