Landscaped Pedestrian Plaza Update Through May

The Chicago Department of Transportation continues its work building the landscaped pedestrian plaza at the northeast corner of 35th and State streets. Rainy weather has been holding up some of the work, but by early this week, concrete work on the north side of 35th Street should be complete. By the middle of this week, the city hopes to reopen the east side of State Street to pedestrian traffic. Around this time, the CTA bus stop will likely return to its normal location east of State Street on 35th Street. Soon, landscape work will begin in the tree planting areas.

Please stay alert when walking in this area to make sure you’re safe and keep your distance from work areas. Continue to watch Illinois Tech Today for updates.
