Career Services will host Handshake Training Sessions on Friday, August 10 (11 a.m.–noon) in the Robert A. Pritzker Science Center, Room 152. When students need guidance in their career path they often seek advice from people with whom they feel comfortable and respect. We know you care about student success, so we designed a short training for you to be able to answer career and job-search related questions and point students in the right direction.

Learn how Career Services’ multi-functional job database, Handshake, can help your students plan and launch their careers. In this training, you’ll learn how students can use Handshake to:

  • book an appointment with a career coach
  • apply for on-campus and off-campus jobs
  • register for events
  • submit application materials like resumes and cover letters for review and approval

This training is a great opportunity to help reach students as soon as they are on campus, especially for incoming students who will be meeting with their advisors for the first time.

RSVP here. Contact Elyse Yarnell, career development coach, at eyarnell1@iit.edu or 312.567.5920 with questions.
