Leroy Kennedy

IIT Vice President of Community Affairs and Outreach Programs Leroy E. Kennedy has been elected Chairman of the Black Metropolis Research Consortium (BMRC). The BMRC is comprised of libraries, universities, museums, and other archival institutions including Illinois Tech, The University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, Roosevelt University, Chicago History Museum, DuSable Museum, and Chicago Public Library, among others.

The consortium promotes the use of documentation of African American and African diasporic culture, history, and politics, with a specific emphasis on material relating to Chicago.
