Limited Submission: 2017 Searle Scholars Program

If you are interested in submitting a 2017 Searle Scholars Program proposal, send an abstract no more than three pages in length to by the internal deadline of Monday, August 22, 2016 at noon. Follow Illinois Tech’s guidelines for internal competitions available here.

Synopsis of Program:
The Searle Scholars Program is a limited submission award program which makes grants to selected academic institutions to support the independent research of outstanding early-career scientists who have recently been appointed as assistant professors on a tenure-track appointment. Grants are $300,000 for a three-year term with $100,000 payable each year of the grant, subject to the receipt of acceptable progress reports. Generally, the program makes 15 new grants annually.


Per Illinois Tech policy, all grant applications (federal and non-federal) must be reviewed, signed and submitted by the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs regardless of the amount of the request.
