Los Alamos Seismology and Seismic Retrofit of Mission Critical Facilities

Join the Civil, Architectural, Environmental Engineering Department for a conversation with Eric Macfarlane from the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). He will discuss his work and also open the floor to any questions.

“A brief discussion on seismology in New Mexico and Los Alamos leading to the site-specific seismic hazard at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Following this will be a discussion on an ongoing seismic study supported by full-scale structural testing of replica components from one mission critical facility at LANL. The project is known as the Column Capital Test Program. University of Nevada—Reno is carrying out the testing in a collaborative process with LANL.”
