Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

On January 25, 1958, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe gave the commencement address, entitled “Some Thoughts on Civilization,” to the graduating class of Illinois Institute of Technology. He was introduced by President John T. Rettaliata, for whom the new engineering building on the Illinois Tech Mies Campus is named. Watch the video here on the 125th Anniversary website.
