Max Hisatake Becomes Men’s Basketball’s First Ever Selection to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

Illinois Tech men’s basketball senior center Max Hisatake landed a spot on the January 14 D3Hoops.com Men’s Team of the Week. Hisatake becomes the first player in program history to earn the distinction after a stellar week for the Scarlet Hawks that included a 75-59 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran on January 7, and a 71-67 win over Lakeland on January 7.

The Las Vegas, Nevada native finished the week with 26.5 points per game, 15.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists per game. This included a career-high 34 points along with 17 rebounds and five assists against Lakeland, which gave him his 10th double double of the season. He added 19 points and 13 boards against Wisconsin Lutheran. Hisatake shot 22-43 (.512) from the field over IIT’s two-game stretch.

Over 95 career games, Hisatake carries 1,110 points and 959 rebounds. He currently paces all NACC players with 1.92 blocks per game, 9.31 defensive rebounds per game (4th NCAA Division III), 10 double doubles (2nd NCAA Division III), 85 free throw attempts, 3.54 offensive rebounds per game, 12.8 rebounds per game (3rd NCAA Division III), 25 blocks and 167 total rebounds (5th NCAA Division III). Hisatake is shooting 99-177 (.559) from the floor in 2019-20.

The Scarlet Hawks will return to action on Wednesday, January 15 at Marian for a 7 p.m. start.
