Meet the Mies Campus Building Monitors

Help the Facilities Department understand and resolve concerns by enlisting the help of the Illinois Tech Building Monitors—the additional eyes and ears of the campus.

Building Monitors:

  • Enter work orders for issues that need to be addressed by the Facilities and Custodial teams.
  • Ensure that Illinois Tech spaces are in good order through regular checks.
  • Address concerns proactively before they impact occupants and visitors.
  • Act as a point of contact between building occupants and Facilities.
  • Meet monthly with the Facilities team to discuss upcoming events and initiatives.
  • Disseminate information about Facilities-related projects and initiatives through posting of signage and communicating to occupants.
  • Take the lead role on fire safety and emergency response teams in their respective buildings.

Students should continue to enter maintenance requests through myroom.iit.edu. However, if your concern is outside of the student residences, Building Monitors can be that additional connection to the Facilities Department.

These individuals are available to students, faculty, and staff via email and phone and are ready to submit Facilities requests. See something? Say something. Find your Building Monitors’ information listed here.
