IIT Online is now the Office of Digital Learning. Part of Academic Affairs, the Office of Digital Learning is the bridge between academics and technology at Illinois Tech.

IIT Online has always done more than online support – the new name of Digital Learning reflects that. IIT Online has taken over management responsibility for Blackboard Learn, Illinois Tech’s learning management system, which touches all courses regardless of delivery mode or section type. And IIT Online works with faculty and staff in all units promoting and supporting active learning across the institution. Most recently, we partnered with academic and administrative units to develop online placement testing for new students.

Digital Learning is still responsible for the administration of Illinois Tech online courses and programs. Our broader emphasis now focuses on using technology across all modes of delivery – face-to-face, blended, and online to promote active learning, to create enriching learning experiences, and to improve student learning outcomes.
