  • Illinois Tech (3-4), CUC (2-5)

How it Happened

  • While possession favored Illinois Tech, it was a relatively quiet first half for both sides. Things changed in the 28th minute when Norikazu Honda notched his first goal of the season off of free kick to give the Scarlet Hawks a 1-0 lead.
  • An Emmanuel Zambrano bicycle kick in front of the net missed just high in the final minutes of the half, allowing the halftime score to remain the same.
  • In the middle of the second half, Noah Griffith narrowly missed a shot through a tight window, hitting the left of the goal and bouncing back into play.
  • Illinois Tech scored again in the 82nd minute, as a Honda cross in front of the net set up Zambrano for the goal.
