Mixing It Up At IIT

During an event hosted by the Illinois Tech Athletics Department and the Student Center for Diversity and Inclusion, explore the sport of lacrosse from 11:30 am-1:30 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 on the McCormick Tribune Campus Center bridge.

IIT is adding Women’s Lacrosse to its athletic programs. Led by Captains Breanne Stromberg and Florencia Carrerou-Mauro, this spring will mark the first season for the Women’s Lacrosse team. Meet Coach Kirk Lamitie this Tuesday to learn more about the sport and the team. The first 10 students to stop by the table will receive a free t-shirt.

The lacrosse program provides an opportunity for students to move out of their comfort zones and identify, question and cross social boundaries. The addition of this new sport is a result of the Teaching Tolerance program which was initially launched by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
