The Student Employment Office is excited to announce the development of a new Electronic Payroll Authorization Form (EPAF) system for student hires, which will launch on Friday, July 1, 2016. This project is the result of a large-scale collaborative effort between the skilled and dedicated staff in the Office of Technology Services (OTS), as well as Payroll, Financial Aid, General Counsel, Human Resources, the International Center, Marketing and Communications, and the One Stop.

The SEO developed a training module for everyone who hires or supervises student employees that will be implemented across all campuses and colleges: Mies, Chicago-Kent, Institute of Design, Rice, Moffett, and Stuart. Please see new policy outlined below, or on the SEO website, under News.

New Policy

By Tuesday, June 28, 2016:

• All supervisors of student employees,
• All timesheet approvers, and
• Any administrative personnel who submit PAs

are required to complete training and pass the associated quiz. This must be done by June 28, 2016, at which time the old student EPAF channel will become inactive.

Training

Training will be made available through two options:

1. In-person trainings; dates and locations listed below
2. Online Blackboard module, a 20-minute PowerPoint video that will communicate the new policies and processes. To complete blackboard training:

• Log in to my.iit.edu and click on the Blackboard icon from the top right menu

                  

• Go to the My Organizations box
• Click on SEO: Hiring Student Employees
• The Blackboard training opened May 23, 2016

Post-Training Quiz

You must receive 100% on the quiz in Blackboard to be granted access to the new student EPAF channel to hire and supervise students. The quiz is available in Blackboard and can be accessed using the instructions above and by clicking Test Your Knowledge. If you do not get 100%, you will retake the quiz. When you get 100%, the student EPAF portal will appear in your work tab within one business day.

• Mies (Main) Campus – Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 2-3:30 p.m., IIT Tower Auditorium
• Chicago Kent – Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 2-3:30 p.m., Chicago-Kent Room 270
