NIMHD Supports Digital Intervention Research to Reduce COVID-19 Impact

The COVID-19 pandemic will result in social, behavioral, and economic changes that affect health across the life span. These effects will be further compounded by disruptions to health care access. Digital health interventions, such as telehealth or mobile health, can help bridge the treatment gap during disruptions of access to care.

NIMHD FOA NOT-MH-20-053 is supporting digital health intervention research seeking to improve how we identify, treat, or provide services for health conditions secondary to the COVID-19 pandemic for NIH-designated health disparity populations and those with medical or social vulnerabilities (e.g., residents of chronic care facilities, community-dwelling older adults, pregnant women, homeless, incarcerated, health care staff on the front lines of pandemic, and workers in essential business operations). This notice is not intended to support the development of novel digital health interventions. Interventions may use telephone and/or video delivery, app-based approaches, Web-based platforms, wearable devices, and/or new technologies.
