IIT College of Science Professors Speaking at 2015 NARST International Conference

Norman G. Lederman, distinguished professor of mathematics and science education, and Judith S. Lederman, associate professor and director of teacher education, will serve as plenary session leaders and featured plenary speakers at the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) international conference. The conference, “Becoming Next Generation Science Educators in an Era of Global Science Education Reform,” will take place from from Saturday, April 11, through Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.

The April 13 plenary session, “Science Teacher Education in an Era of Science Education Reform: A Global Perspective,” organized by the Ledermans will feature a six-continent symposium on preservice science teacher education. The session brings together scholars from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America to discuss how individuals are initially educated to become science teachers.
