The Teaching and Learning Center in the Office of Digital Learning is celebrating National Distance Learning Week (November 6-10) with a series of professional development sessions to promote digital learning regardless of delivery format.
All sessions will be held from 12:50–1:40 p.m. in the Digital Learning Offices, Room 103 in Stuart Building, except for the Collaborate session which is noted below. Please RSVP if you would like to attend any or all sessions.
Tuesday, November 7 – Classroom A/V Basics
Learn how to best utilize the classroom AV equipment. If you use lecture capture, discover best production practices for recording with or without a production assistant.
Wednesday, November 8 – Instructional Design Overview
Join us for a brief overview of instructional design and how it can benefit your course however it is delivered.
Thursday, November 9 – Remote Proctoring and Online Assessment
Learn about Examity, a remote proctoring service, Blackboard testing options, and exam reporting in Blackboard, as well as a brief overview of Respondus Lockdown Browser.
Friday, November 10 – Blackboard Changes for Spring 18
Blackboard Ultra is on its way to Illinois Tech. Learn more about what this new platform has to offer, as well as the few changes to the landing page coming in spring 2018.
Friday, November 17 – Collaborate
10:30 a.m.–noon
Learn more about Collaborate, Illinois Tech’s enterprise-wide free web conferencing tool by participating in a Collaborate session – no need to leave your office. Details, including a link to the virtual room and access instructions, will be sent to those who RSVP.
