The State of Illinois MAP Grant is awarded to Illinois residents with demonstrated financial need as determined by the FAFSA. The value of a student’s MAP Grant award is determined by a student’s enrollment. Students enrolled in 15+ credit hours will be offered the full value of the MAP Grant. For every credit hour under 15 the state of Illinois will deduct $162.30 from the student’s award. The MAP Grant can only be used to cover tuition and mandatory fees. Since this grant is tied to a student’s enrollment, it will disburse after the add/drop date every semester (Saturday, September 1, 2018 and Saturday, January 26, 2019 respectively).To learn more about the MAP Grant click here.
