Join Dean of Libraries Devin Savage for a brownbag discussion on Open Access. Significant shifts in funding mandates and directives such as the recent OSTP memo have accelerated the already growing open access initiatives. He will lead a discussion on the latest developments, possible directions, and existing tools and resources for Illinois Tech’s scholars.
Virtual Faculty Lounge: Creating Digital Twins

Sign up for the CLI’s Virtual Faculty Lounge to learn more about Digital Twins, virtual representations of actual objects or places, which can be used in different disciplines to engage and inspire students. Mohammad Heidarinejad and Ankit Srivastava, instructors from the Armour College of Engineering, introduced their students to open access educational software, some free software options, and used virtual reality and digital twins in their teaching. They will discuss their process and explain how it can be applied to a variety of disciples and aid in student learning. Stop by the Research Help Desk on the upper level of the library October 24 through Friday, October 28 with the answer to the daily trivia question to win a free T-Shirt, key chain, or a pair of earbuds, while supplies last. Trivia will be posted daily on the library’s social media pages and at the Research Help Desk. All week, questions will relate to Open Access: research and materials that are freely available online.
