Orgel Will Travel to Cambridge for PLOS ONE Journal’s 10th Anniversary

Joseph Orgel, associate professor of biology, physics, and biomedical engineering, will travel to Cambridge, UK, March 24-26, for the 10th anniversary of PLOS (Public Library of Science) ONE, the world’s first peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary open-access scientific journal.

Orgel’s research expertise is in the extracellular matrix, collagen structure, fibrous proteins, X-ray diffraction, and brain imaging.

Orgel has been a section editor for PLOS ONE since 2009. Section editors are key board members who provide advice on journal policy and problems. In Cambridge, he will meet with fellow editors, celebrate PLOS ONE’s milestone, and plan for the future.

PLOS ONE is available exclusively online and publishes original research in all scientific disciplines, including–as many journals do not–interdisciplinary research, negative results, and replication studies. It gives scientists a forum to publish interesting research without having to fit into the narrow confines of traditional scientific journals.
