IIT College of Science Physics Professors Dan Kaplan and Jeff Terry to Deliver Speeches

Dan Kaplan, professor of physics, is speaking this week at the XVth International Workshop on Neutrino Factories, Super Beams and Beta Beams (NuFact 2013) in Beijing, China. His talks are “R&D Efforts for Neutrino Factory” and “Progress Towards Completion of the MICE Demonstration of Ionisation Cooling of Muons.” Kaplan is also a member of the international Scientific Program Committee for the NuFact Workshop series. He chaired the NuFact09 Workshop here at IIT.

Jeff Terry, associate professor of physics and the Scientific Director of the Advanced Test Reactor National Scientific User Facility, will speak on “Small Modular Nuclear Reactors: Parametric Modeling of Integrated Reactor Vessel Manufacturing Within a Factory Environment” at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy on Thursday, August 29 at 1:00 pm.
