“Piety, Knowledge, and Critical Inquiry in Plato’s Euthyphro” Lecture – November 9

On Monday, November 9 at 3:30 p.m., Shimer College will host “Piety, Knowledge, and Critical Inquiry in Plato’s Euthyphro.” This lecture, by David Shiner, professor of humanities and the history of ideas at Shimer College, will explore the relationship between piety, knowledge, and critical inquiry in Plato’s Euthyphro and to some extent another Platonic dialogue, the Apology. The approach taken in the lecture will disclose a method for advancing our understanding of the Platonic dialogues.
