President Anderson and Provost Cramb Encourage All to Participate in Upcoming University Diversity Forums

In a January letter to the university community we highlighted IIT’s focus on creating a campus climate that is welcoming, comfortable and free of barriers to productive work and study for all members of our community. From late February to early April, the Diversity Committee will be sponsoring nine forums to explore campus climate, three on each of the following topics: students inside and outside the classroom, faculty teaching and working environments, and staff working environments. We invite you to join the pool of potential forum participants.

Each one-hour forum will include about 15 participants and will be facilitated by a member of the Diversity Committee and an outside diversity professional. We are interested in giving voice to all members of the IIT community and particularly encourage widespread participation across our various colleges, schools and administrative units. Forums will be held at the main, downtown and ID campuses and participants will be reimbursed for transportation to/from the forums from their home campus. Lunch or refreshments will be served.

We hope you accept our invitation to join the pool of potential forum participants. If you are interested, please complete the registration form.

Thanks to those of you willing to participate and contribute to our efforts. We hope to come to a better understanding of campus climate so that we can then take steps to improve the learning and working environments for all members of the IIT community.
